MANDA VUKSANAJ-COKER Product Representative, Pacific “We’ve trialed ColorRush in the ground in various climates. Time and time again, it lives up to its name by providing massive mounds of vibrant color. For example, Merlot Star has a stable star pattern that lasts all season. See the chart below for the flowering weeks you can expect by region.” ColorRush continues to be a standout among ground petunias with its trial garden performance proved best in market and as a 2019 University of Georgia Plants of Distinction award winner. Finish in an outdoor cold frame, where it can receive natural night temperatures as low as 32°F (0°C), but have some form of greenhouse roof protection to avoid frost exposure. PGRs in our trials were not needed when average daily temperature was below 54°F (12°C) in outdoor tunnels. Midwest, Canada and Northeast Regions Based on our Midwest trials, we recommend a Bonzi spray at 5 ppm 10 days after stick and a Bonzi drench at 5 ppm 3 to 4 weeks after transplant, if needed. This keeps plants from growing together on the bench. South or Southeast Region Finish in an outdoor cold frame, where it can receive natural night temperatures as low as 32°F (0°C), but should not be exposed to frost during the production cycle. Since many locations in the South or Southeast will not be able to provide an average daily temperature under 54°F (12°C), we recommend a Bonzi drench between 1 to 3 ppm to control finished growth.
